Delete your account
You have the right to permanently delete your customer account in any app powered by Merchie. Deletion erases the personal information we hold about you. This page explains how to do it and exactly what we retain.
How to delete your account
Option 1 · Recommended
From inside the app
- Open the app on your phone.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
- Tap the Settings tab at the top of the Profile screen.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm in the prompt. Your account is deleted immediately.
The deletion takes effect right away — you do not need to wait for an email confirmation, and you will be signed out on every device. The change cannot be undone.
Option 2 · If you no longer have the app installed
Email us
Email herrisellc@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address or phone number associated with your account. We will process the deletion within 7 business days and reply when complete.
We may ask you one verification question (e.g. the last business you visited) to confirm the request is from the account owner before we proceed.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we erase the personal data tied to you:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your date of birth
- Your profile photo
- Your login credentials (you will no longer be able to sign in)
- Any push-notification tokens registered to your devices for this account
- Your marketing preferences and consent records tied to your identity
What we retain (and why)
Some records about your transactions stay in the merchant's financial books in a de-identified form. These cannot be linked back to you as a person:
- Order history and payment receipts — kept for tax recordkeeping and fraud-prevention purposes permitted under GDPR Article 17(3)(b) and (e). Your name and email are removed from these records; only the amounts and dates remain.
- Membership and subscription history — same reason. The record shows the membership existed; your identity is detached.
- Aggregated business statistics — counts like "total customers in March" that no longer include your personal data once you are deleted.
- An anonymous hash of your email — so we can tell if you sign up again later. We do not retain the email itself; only a one-way SHA-256 hash that cannot be reversed.
- Append-only consent records — we preserve the fact that you exercised your deletion right (a regulatory requirement), but the entry no longer contains your contact details.
How long it takes
In-app deletion (Option 1): immediate. Your personal data is erased the moment you confirm.
Email request (Option 2): processed within 7 business days.
Backups: our routine encrypted backups roll off the system within 30 days. After that, your data is gone from those copies too.
Can I get my account back?
No. Deletion is permanent and irreversible by design. If you change your mind, you can create a fresh account at the same merchant — but the new account will not have your prior points, cash balance, member tier, or visit history.
